Hulls have left for the Paint Shop

As Andrew is now the proud owner of Dave's 18 with wings (a credit to its previous owner is the quote), my tired old hulls have left for the paint shop for final stages of the winter overhaul.

Sanded, filled and the sanded some more.... Hours of torture (I should have had JJ do it when he had the chance back in March !)

If all things go well, we should be back on the water in two weeks.

My new toy

Thanks to Rohan and JonJay for encouraging me to buy a Hobie 18.

I took delivery of one last week and she's a beauty. White with wings, the boat is in exceptional condition and a credit to previous owner Dave Hewson - a very passionate Hobie man.

I hope I am 'man enough' to handle her sailing one-up. We'll see.

I look forward to seeing you guys out on the water soon.

I intend to race again occassionally (one-up) so would like a boat that is competitive, but would also like a boat that can accomodate another adult or a few young kids for the odd joy ride if need be… Continue

I did actually floor the turbo diesel landcruiser as you came past but she just didn't have enough torque, I'm blaming all that extra weight of Quinny's prizes which he sat on the dash & in my face the whole trip home!
